Dining rooms come in all sizes and can be one of the hardest rooms to decorate. Many people think they cannot decorate a dining room beautifully unless they have a lot of money to spend to do it right and make it look luxurious and elegant. This is not the case though. Even if you don’t have a big budget, you can create a beautiful dining room and make your dining experiences feel rich, or casual, classic or contemporary. Even if your dining room is lacking in space, you can make it appealing and inviting just by what you put into your room. The good thing is; there are all kinds of tips and ideas that will help you keep the cost down so you don’t go broke just trying to make your dining room more desirable room to dine in.
The color palette for a transitional room are typically smooth and creamy. Creams, light browns, and muted blues, greens and grays, among others. Wood furniture pieces can be dark shades of wood, and are the preferred look for this type of décor as opposed to light oaks. The same color scheme for wood flooring choices also applies, using dark cherry wood, Mahogany, and other dark colored woods. Splashes of color should be limited. A colorful flower arrangement on your dining table or buffet will break up the understated tones in the room, or add accent colors in your dining chair cushions or draperies, are other options.
Featuring a black and white scheme, this industrial themed dining room is classy and creative. The addition of wood and metal chairs are a great way to embrace a style that celebrates raw elements.
You may want to consider leaving one wall as a focal wall, creating a distressed brick wall for an industrial look, or expose some brick areas on a couple dry wall, walls, as if the brick is coming through. Ceilings, and flooring are also ways to use rustic or industrial types of materials to enhance the feeling of being in a warehouse, barn, or other industrial environment. Wood flooring, or granite all work in an industrial dining room, and your ceiling might really complete the room with large wood beams or exposed piping.
