The master bedroom is a place where you spend a great deal of time. It is your place where you can retreat from the rest of the house, and even the world, and relax, unwind, sleep, read, watch TV, whatever you like to do in your master bedroom. You want your master bedroom to reflect the way you think and want to feel when you are in it. You want it to be comfortable, yet have a sense of functionality to it so that you can do what you want and need to do in it. The master bedroom is most often, the most personalized room in the house, and you can create your own beautiful haven away from the reset of the house just by what you choose to go in it. Here are some tips for creating your own beautiful master bedroom.
It seems counterintuitive, but the soaring height of a canopy bed can actually make a small bedroom feel larger, and it will certainly up the grandness factor. Adding some draped fabric, either on the sides or along the back and top, amps up the romantic, billowy feel; leaving the canopy structure bare is ideal for a more modern look.
Choosing neutral tones for your bedroom is where it begins. You want to enhance a simplistic appeal, and overstated, loud or vibrant colors can disrupt the peace of a bedroom when trying to create an unassuming look and feel. White on white is very basic, clean, sophisticated and breathable. Black and white together, something that mimics a black and white photo, is the right angle of a Scandinavian look. Beiges, tans, creams, and grey, all work well with simple chic and cozy, for this design. An idea is to cover your walls in a light gray and make them pop with all white trim. Or use one wall as a focal point, for instance, the wall behind the bed could be painted an outdoorsy color while retaining the rest of the walls white.
If you are a modern and contemporary person, you can break out of the traditional and have fun with your chandelier. One of the newest styles of chandeliers are the sputnik style chandeliers that look like a burst of energy and fun in your master bedroom. If are a fan of the celestial world and want to bring a little piece of the galaxy to your master bedroom ceiling. Try going with a Sputnik style chandelier that will surely be the focal point of the room. You will have friends and family talking about the creative, futuristic design you added to your room.
