One of the biggest elements of Scandinavian décor, is to think, nature. Bringing the outdoors, in, gives a calm, relaxing and serene feel, one that you can easily accomplish with potted plants and other pieces of nature that fit your Scandinavian theme. It is also a way to add a splash of color in a cozy corner.
Storage is usually tight in a small bedroom. You will want to be creative with your storage if you are lacking. Ideas for storage in a small bedroom include, use a decorative chest for a nightstand to store items or clothing, or place an ottoman under a window or at the foot of the bed for seating as well as holding winter clothes. Storage, or sweater boxes can be slid under a bed. If the bed is too low, try setting the frame up on risers and add a bed skirt that flows to the floor, to hide what’s underneath.
Symmetry is one of the oldest tricks in the designer playbook, and for good reason. The result is a look that’s perfectly pulled together and balanced. Purchasing in twos also reduces the number of decisions you have to make. One exception? Art. Somehow it doesn’t feel right buying identical pieces of art, so instead look for works that are part of the same series but not exactly the same.
Your outdoor bedroom can be as open as you want or just a small outdoor extension of your main bedroom. Literally, the sky’s the limit to what you can do to create a great extension of your bedroom that allows you to enjoy the outdoors while spending time in your own bedroom.
