Choosing neutral tones for your bedroom is where it begins. You want to enhance a simplistic appeal, and overstated, loud or vibrant colors can disrupt the peace of a bedroom when trying to create an unassuming look and feel. White on white is very basic, clean, sophisticated and breathable. Black and white together, something that mimics a black and white photo, is the right angle of a Scandinavian look. Beiges, tans, creams, and grey, all work well with simple chic and cozy, for this design. An idea is to cover your walls in a light gray and make them pop with all white trim. Or use one wall as a focal point, for instance, the wall behind the bed could be painted an outdoorsy color while retaining the rest of the walls white.
Beautiful high-quality printed bedding can definitely be a commitment, which is why opting for all-white is one of our favorite decorating moves. For those of you worried that it’s boring, the trick is in the accents. A pair of colorful throw pillows can instantly infuse the look with whatever personality you’d like, as can a fun coverlet or quilt laid out across the foot of the bed. The key is to keep your foundation simple and your accents anything but, which will let you switch up the look as often as you like.
